Welcome to Acupressure! This class is a great starting place for anyone interested in Acupressure and Asian Bodywork Therapy (ABT).
This is an informative and fun class, allowing you to "try a little bit of everything." The class covers a selection of hands-on techniques- the self-care of Dao Yin (Do-in), the deep nurturing and gentle focused touch of Ren Shen (Jin Shin), the relaxing, enlivening effects of more active styles (Zen Shiatsu or Tui Na), and the easy to apply integrative framework of Acu-Reflexology. Each style expresses the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in its own way, and singly, or in combination, they allow a huge range of healing applications. This class opens the door to the depth and breadth of Acupressure, helping you comprehend and work with QI (life force energy) for balance and the integration of mind, body, spirit. Whether you are a massage therapist wishing to deepen your healing work, a caring friend wanting to help others in your family and community, or a seeker desiring to learn self-care, this class will help you learn and experience how Acupressure- Relaxes the Body, Calms the Mind and Lifts the Spirit.
