Learn to combine acupressure points with yoga postures for self-treatment.
This class emphasizes working with the meridians and chakras, deep
breathing exercises and self-care for common stress related problems.
ACUPRESSURE FIRST AID
Prerequisites: None
12 Class Hours
Learn first aid responses for emergency situations. Discover acupressure
points for heart attack, seizures, general pain, joint injuries,
back and neck injuries, common colds, burns, cuts and other first
aid applications. Class includes discussions, hands-on sessions,
role-playing and handouts for emergency situations.
ACUPRESSURE'S POTENT POINTS

Provides hands-on point location, self-care, and clinical applications
for relieving common ailments from A to Z for working with clients.

Prerequisite: Zen Shiatsu or Fundamentals of Acupressure

Learn a full body treatment in both prone and supine positions using
both feet and hands. Discover how to use breath and body mechanics.
Explore the assessment process in giving Ashiatsu. Taught on floor

Expand the methods learned in the basic Ashiatsu class by adding
seated position techniques, alternative lifts, and Ashiatsu that

to produce a powerful strategy for healing. Specific attention is
given to abdominal palpitation, pulse and face reading and special
Ashiatsu patterns for common problems. CHI GUNG
FOR BODYWORKERS

Learn to cultivate, focus, direct and apply vital energy (chi) doing
bodywork. Learn Chi Gung body mechanics and their applications to
bodywork. Learn to ground and harvest your cosmic chi for greater
stamina and bodywork effectiveness. Learn the Macrocosmic Orbit
to center yourself and balance the Central Channel. Learn Zhan Zhuang
(standing meditation) for deep inner body awareness.
MAJOR MEDICAL DISORDERS
Prerequisites: Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Acupressure Classes

Study the mechanisms involved in major medical disorders to provide
a more accurate assessment of clients. Learn about your own level
of skill and knowledge so you know when and how to refer clients
to appropriate specialists. Explore the changes, loss and emotional
aspects involved in major medical illnesses. MOXA,
CUPPING, and MAGNETS
Prerequisites: Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Acupressure Classes

Study the history, precautions, and applications for using moxa.
Learn moxa applications for deficient, cold or damp conditions.
Use cupping techniques for sprains, cold and arthritis. Learn how
to use magnets with acupressure applications. SPORTS
LOWER BODYWORK
Prerequisite: None
15 Class Hours
Discover the anatomy of dysfunctional musculature, which causes
pain in the lower body. Learn to take care of these areas with acupressure
and trigger points for short-term relief and long term healing.
SPORTS UPPER BODYWORK
Prerequisite: None
15 Class Hours
Gain an anatomical understanding of dysfunctional musculature in
the upper body that causes pain. Learn how to work on these areas
with acupressure and trigger points both for short-term relief and
long term healing. SPORTS TUI NA
Prerequisite: Tui Na I & II
15 Class Hours
Apply Tui Na techniques to sports related needs such as injury prevention,
performance enhancement and recovery. This hands-on class will present
an overview of the needs of an athlete. Learn pre-event massage,
post-event massage, and how to tailor Tui Na sessions to the needs
of specific sports. Injury management techniques as well as proper
methods to warm-up and cool-down during a workout session will also
be covered. STRETCHING TECHNIQUES: ACTIVE

Explore solo and client stretching techniques and how to customize
stretches with an emphasis on proper alignment. Learn the anatomy
of each stretch. Explore practical applications for opening blockages
and the circulation of Chi and Blood through the meridians. The
Active class will cover stretching techniques such as proprioceptive
neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and neuromuscular anatomy.
STRETCHING TECHNIQUES: PASSIVE

Learn how to use powerful Yoga-like stretches along with Shiatsu
and other bodywork skills. Perform a full-body routine covering
the front, back, and legs in prone and supine positions.
THAI MASSAGE: SIDES & SEATED

Learn a full body Thai massage using side position stretches. Discover
arm stretches and techniques for releasing shoulder and neck tension
in a seated position. TUI NA I (Chinese Massage)

Learn 13 hand techniques, self-massage, Tao Yen, T'ai Chi and Qi
Gong exercises. Apply techniques and range of motion through clothing,
usually on the table. Based on wind and water Feng Shui, a full
body approach for the client and practitioner. Required for Shiatsu
Program. TUI NA II (Chinese Massage)
12 Class Hours
The advanced Tui Na classes apply Traditional Asian Theories and
present new hand techniques, movements and range of motion. Learn
Tai Chi animal movements, Pa Kua (the 8 Gates) and the Wu Xing (five
phases). TUI NA III (Chinese Massage)
