PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION
The 200-Hour Advanced career training
programs enable students to enhance their skills and choose a
focus of study for developing a specialty in private practice.
Students are required to select four primary classes in their
chosen area of study. (One of these may be a secondary class in
the same area of study.) Six other classes are selected from other
areas of study. Two of these six classes may be Electives not
already taken in the Basic Training Program. Students are also
required to take one Apprenticeship Training and ten hours of
Advanced Practice Sessions to gain clinical experience. Students
may develop their own specialization program title and course
list, subject to the approval of a senior instructor or Institute
counselor.
COURSE LENGTH
Ranges from one month to one year.
One month intensives are offered throughout the year for full-time
students. (Click on 'Class Schedule' tab above for dates and times
of intensive programs.)
CREDITS
Students can receive up to 30% financial
and academic credit for equivalent courses taken elsewhere, based
on a $5 hourly rate. Appropriate documentation must be provided
at enrollment for credit to be given.
EXTENSIONS
Students may extend the program
for an additional year by paying a $75 re-registration fee. Students
must complete the program within two years, otherwise they will
be charged any program price increase in addition to the re-registration
fee to complete the program and receive their diploma.
